Crowns and Bridges

Mouth checkup

Over time teeth can wear down. They may become chipped or broken, due to accidents. They can be weakened by decay and the presence of large fillings. When a tooth is in this state it is often advisable to treat the root and put a crown on the tooth. The crown of your tooth is the part seen above your gums. An artificial crown fits over the existing damaged tooth strengthening it and improving the appearance of the tooth.
Crowns are one way to save a tooth. These are made in a laboratory and fit neatly over the existing tooth. Made of porcelain they can be matched to the existing tooth colour, or desired colour. Crowns enhance appearance, prevent surrounding teeth from moving and help maintain your bite and aid chewing.

A bridge, as its name suggests is an appliance consisting of an artificial tooth or teeth, anchored, like a bridge, to the surrounding healthy teeth. A bridge replaces missing teeth.

Testimonials

"I am fortunate to have been a patient of Dr Watson for over 25 years and before that, his father Dr FX Watson. I have in fact only used 2 dentists in my entire life, both of whom have provided me with excellent care and attention."
