Over time teeth can wear down. They may become chipped or broken, due to accidents. They can be weakened by decay and the presence of large fillings. An artificial crown fits over the existing damaged tooth strengthening it and improving the appearance of the tooth.

A bridge, as its name suggests is an appliance consisting of an artificial tooth or teeth, anchored, like a bridge, to the surrounding healthy teeth. A bridge replaces missing teeth.
